A New Voice in American Poetry
I'm an American poet from Connecticut who began writing free verse poetry at Central Connecticut State College during the early 1970s. I'm writing poetry almost every day now. My mission is to write poetry that people can understand. Although I still prefer to write free verse, I find villanelles both fun and challenging to do.
At least two dozen poems were published in literary magazines from 1974 to about 2005. Some of those poems are available on links provided on the published poems page. Although I didn't practice my craft on a steady basis from about 2005 to 2015, I was able to write more poetry again after retirement, especially since 2020.
I'd like to share more new poems on this website, but I'm actively submitting them to poetry contests and would be disqualified if they're published anywhere, even on this site. I'm fortunate, though, that I have a good audience when I do poetry readings for my friends and their guests at private parties and open mics.
